» CareerGirl - Talk to me about your Worse Boss Ever!

Many years ago, I worked at a business that was made up of about 90% men - it was a pipleline construction company. I was hired to streamline the business operations, increase accepted bid proposals and overall make the company more efficient and profitable. I was hired by the owner of the company. Too bad he didn't actually work on site. I answered to the Operations Manager, who had been with the company a lifetime and was also the cause of many of the problems. Needless to say, it made for a long work day, each and every day.

He treated me like a girl Friday instead of a management consultant. He called me Trixie instead of Tracey. His mission each day was to make sure my life was miserable. It was a 6-month contract and it was the longest 6-months of my life. However, I stuck it out, did what I was contracted to and then happily left.
