There are many companies that hire people to work for them at home. Many of these jobs include phone calls, some inbound and some outbound.

To avoid the avalanche of work at home scams, look for established businesses that hire home workers. Established work at home jobs have a track record of hiring and paying employees for the work they do at home.

Some of these are companies that have both in-house phone workers and home workers. Some companies hire employees to work directly for the company as a paid employee with a set wage. Other companies only hire independent contractors who are not technically employees of the company. The pay for independent contractor positions is often variable and dependent on either commissions or what type of items are being sold.

West

West has been hiring home workers for a few years and has a large pool of both in-house and home call center employees. They hire independent contractors to take customer service calls in their homes. They pay hourly or per minute of call time, depending on what type of calls you receive.

Alpine Access

This is another home call center job for home workers to take incoming customer service jobs. They pay by the hour.

BabytoBee

This company pays hourly for home workers to place outgoing calls. The calls are made to people who have signed up to get more information about baby products. The company also pays commissions for some types of calls and sometimes pays bonuses as well.

Virtuserve

Virtuserve has a large number of home workers who make outbound calls. Much of their business is from telemarketing, but there are also surveys and incoming help desk calls available.

Liveops

This is one of the largest companies that hires home workers for phone work. They employ more than 20,000 home call center agents. They pay per minute of customer service talk time.

Verafast

Verafast hires home telemarketers to sell a wide variety of products. The pay is commission based and is highly variable.

Customer Loyalty Concepts

This company hires home workers to sell services via telephone. They have a variety of campaigns that pay different hourly rates. Some of their workers sell newspaper subscriptions, others sell other services.

VIPDesk

This company hires home workers to ask as concierges through incoming calls and emails. The concierge services are much like a hotel concierge—recommending restaurants, helping customers to get tickets to events, etc. These jobs pay hourly and are only available in specific states. They also hire home workers as independent contractors to take inbound customer calls. These positions are available in every state.

Be careful of any company that charges people for the opportunity to work. There are a few legitimate companies that charge a small fee for a background check for prospective employees. That is a necessary precaution when a worker will have access to credit card or other personal information. But, other than that charge, legitimate companies will not ask for money before offering paid work.
